Programming Manager | Multi-Disciplinary Arts Producer | Creative Events

Amy Carson Hunter is a process and results-oriented arts producer and programming manager with over five years of diverse experience within Canada’s not-for-profit sector. Most recently the Manager, Creative Experience, Live Programming at Telus Spark Science Centre (Calgary, AB) overseeing and curating a robust daily offering of live science programming that explores the intersection of art and science. 

Prior to her recent move to Calgary from Toronto, she produced an annual multi-disciplinary, international Children’s Festival (Junior, Harbourfront Centre) as well as an annual outdoor concert series focused on early and contemporary classical, and global roots genres (Summer Music in the Garden, Harbourfront Centre). She has associate produced a year-round theatre season (Soulpepper Theatre), associate produced and company managed a 5-week tour to New York City including 12 theatre and concert productions and a company of 90 people (Soulpepper Theatre, tour to the Signature Theatre), and has managed countless smaller-scale music tours across Ontario and Canada. Amy has experience in producing in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, and has a steady hand in a storm due to her experience with crisis management. 

Through her work, Amy is interested in streamlining internal processes to create mechanisms for organization and efficiency. She takes a thoughtful and holistic approach to producing, programming,  and event management, and is particularly concerned with making the arts as low-barrier as possible for wider audiences.
